Why I suggest Barolo DOCG Riva del Bric
Everything you can expect from a high-end Nebbiolo. This great brooding beast of a wine has personality to burn. He may still be just a child, but there is a lot of depth and richness here. Be patient, not a fan of classic style, leave in the basement and forget.
The Sommelier: Spices and red fruits, many aromatic, but very old, because the tannins and the structure are very firm (but not oppressive). Reserved and shy, this wine takes a decade or two to reach its potential. Wide and intense. Satisfying, almost classic, though not austere.
