The Altare Giuseppe family (Elio's grandfather), originally from Dogliani, arrived in La Morra in 1948.

He acquires a farmhouse with about 5 hectares of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto vineyards including hazelnut, peach and apple trees. Not easy times that in the years to come induced Elio to experiment with alternative ways to the traditional ones, also rowing against the tide of the ideologies of his father Giovanni and of many Piedmontese producers who they considered wicked choices.

Elio with strong conviction and cold determination, eliminates the large barrels and makes room for the barriques, favoring elegance, finesse and balance to his wines. Simple wines as nature created them
