Why I suggest Nero di Troia Puer Apuliae Castel del Monte DOC
The Nero Troia, an Apulian red berry variety spread in the Murgia and Daunia area.
It is an important variety for the Apulian oenology that has been relaunched for decades with excellent results. The Rivera estate produces its Nero Troia: Puer Apuliae Castel del Monte Doc, dedicated to Emperor Frederick II of Swabia. Harvested and vinified with maceration of the steel grapes, the wine stays for 14 months in barrique, subsequently aged in glass for one year. Alcohol content of fourteen degrees.
The Sommelier: Dark ruby color with evident luminous reflections and conspicuous consistency. The olfactory examination immediately marks aromas of fruits and vegetables of the undergrowth, enhanced in the olfactory tone by almost balsamic toasted almonds. In the mouth the character is noted, the rich and complex structure, immediately warm, slightly tannic, dry, earthy wine. Characteristically fresh, balanced, soft and harmonious. The finish is very long and satisfying, a taste that gracefully pervades and satisfies the drink.
Suggested pairings: Mushrooms and baked potatoes; asparagine omelettes, roasted artichokes; snails with shell in fresh tomato sauce; cardoncelle and lamb meat vegetable soup, aged cheeses; Romagna piadina and various cold cuts; Vegetables and vegetables in EVO oil; dried fruit, Aperitif with taralli scaldatelli.
Uncork 1 hour before serving at a temperature between 16 - 18 ° C, in a large Ballon glass.
Wine cellar: Rivera .... centuries have passed and selection lists of varietal clones have led to the affirmation of the great Apulian black berry wine potential: Nero di Troia ... Go to the file.
